While working for the White Sox, I was tasked with planning, pitching, promoting and coordinating both massive in-person events and virtual events following the COVID-19 outbreak. A lot of work went into creating these events and the White Sox’ PR department is an amazing team that I’m beyond happy to have been a part of. Here are all the events I had a hand in:
For the first time ever, SoxFest– the annual White Sox fan celebration – was held at Chicago’s McCormick Place event center. It was the largest SoxFest to date with tens of thousands of visitors each day over the two-day event, and was the very first thing I got to help with as a member of the Sox’ PR department.

Game Changers Virtual Event Series
The White Sox are in their fourth season of hosting Game Changers, a free discussion event series aimed at celebrating, supporting and empowering under-represented communities. This year, the events were forced to go virtual. The Sox PR team and I still put together awesome panels, featuring expert panelists that opened diverse and educational discussions to hundreds of live viewers.
- Latinos Reshaping the Sports Journalism Industry (8/31/2020)
- Reflecting on the Legacy of the Negro Leagues (9/17/2020)
- A Real Conversation on Challenges and Wins for Women Working in Sports (11/16/2020)
To kickoff Hispanic Heritage Month in September 2020, the White Sox hosted a live virtual Lotería night on their YouTube page. The Sox PR team and I helped build out this virtual event to feature amazing lotería card images and promote the game night that was eventually viewed by several thousand White Sox fans.
